Or yeah, that's the other thing I was going to say... that it was a light on the outside of your house!
Ha! That's too funny!! I'm such a photo critic, I think I know so much!

Thanks for the laugh, I cracked up when I read your reply. Reminds my of when I was in high school and the assignment was to write a poem for English class... mine turned out to be pretty good I guess, and the teacher asked me in front of the class how I chose my symbolism and metaphors and whatever.. I just gave her a dumb look and said, 'I dunno, I just used those words because they rhymed." Pretty funny!

I still love your photo even if it is only your back porch light, and it's staying in my 'Favorites'!

A great use of the 'Rule Of Thirds' I might add!

I'm a sucker for reflections. The photo is almost 'so what?' until I look at the reflections in the light bulb... I see a sky, a distant treeline, maybe a sidewalk and tall shrub. I see the convergence of the lines from the siding on the house.. which is just the slightest glimpse of the outside of the structure. Now the photo becomes much more important in the story it tells of a place and a time in some unknown person's life. The broken glass is a giveaway that this is probably an abandoned dwelling... even the unfrosted bulb is a clue that it's from the past, since clear bulbs were much more common decades ago. That's why I love reflection shots... the more I look, the more I think. The more I think, the more I like! Nice Job! This is why I love photography. For me, the best part of this photo is that it caused me to look and think about it for 20 minutes before resuming my work this morning. Just my opinion however. Others are free to think this is only a shot of a light bulb and a broken window, and are free to click to the next photo. ;-)
